In November, we had the exceptional opportunity to attend the inaugural night of Cigarettes After Sex's highly anticipated X's tour in London. This concert emerged as one of the most remarkable experiences, particularly due to the band's decision to forgo any opening acts. This unconventional choice fostered a distinct and unhurried atmosphere, allowing the event to unfold organically and enveloping attendees in a sense of calm anticipation.

While the audience eagerly awaited the band's entrance at 9 pm, their delayed arrival—15 minutes late—only intensified our excitement as the anticipation within the venue swelled.
The performance commenced with the hauntingly beautiful tracks "X's" and "You’re All I Want," which initially resonated quietly among the audience. However, as the set progressed, the energy within the venue increased with each song, reflecting the band's profound emotional depth. The lighting design throughout the performance significantly contributed to the overall ambiance, skillfully adhering to a sleek black and white color palette while incorporating an array of striking spotlights, floor lights, and backdrops all different for each song. This culminated in a stunning display as a shimmering disco ball descended just prior to their rendition of the most known hit, "Apocalypse."

The moody atmosphere pervaded the venue, eliciting a profound emotional response from all present. It was truly heartwarming to observe the connection rippling through the crowd, where each individual, adorned in dark attire and glimmering makeup, mirrored the band’s ethereal aesthetic. As we immersed ourselves in the haunting melodies and poignant lyrics, it became evident that the performance transcended the conventional concert experience; it was a shared emotional journey that left an enduring impression on all who were fortunate enough to attend.
