On February 22nd we had the exhausting pleasure of getting to run around North Shields Fish quay interviewing a tonne of bands at coast festivals coastal crawl, we managed to catch snakes with tits right before their set and heres what they had to say:

Can you introduce yourself?
Shelly: im shelly,im the bassist and vocalist for snakes with tits.
Kim: im kim, i play drums for snakes with tits.
Ben: I'm Ben, and I'm one of the six string players. Sometimes, I provide harmonies.
Scott: I'm Scott and I'm the sound architect.
How did you each initially get into making music?
Shelly: I've been making music ever since I was a child, so I just fell into it.
Kim: late starter here, I started playing drums about four years ago, and when I met Shelly, we formed the band.
Ben: I was hit in the head with a piano at the age of three.
Scott: my dad got me into classic rock and I've picked up the guitar since the age of fifteen. Started rocking out since then.

What has been your. Most memorable performance to date?
Shelly: ooo I'm gonna say the Star and shadow EP launch party, so far, because it just descended into chaos and it was just beautiful, I enjoyed it.
Kim: yeah, totally agreed with Shelly. It was one of our best performances.
Ben: again, star and shadow. Also need to mention the grove as well.
Shelly: the grove was great as well, yeah.
As a band, who is your greatest musical inspiration?
Shelly: I'm gonna say black sabbath because that's why I started playing bass.
Kim: I am gonna say the jam because Rick Buckler passed recently and he was one of my favourite drummers.
Ben: somebody coloured us for having a very north west vibe last week and that just made my heart flutter. Because that is entirely where I come from.
Scott: Uhm, where to start, a few names off the top of my head would be Robin Trower, the Outbursts, sabbath, the Who, the Stones

What is next for you as a band?
Shelly: so we've just released the debut EP 'tangents', I think what we're going to do next is we've got a few gigs coming up and then concentrate more on new material and maybe another EP?
Do any of you have any music outside of making music?
Shelly: I like to do crochet and things like that, very real rock and roll things.
Kim: I like writing, I used to write lots of gig reviews myself.
Ben: when I can afford it, I like to go rock climbing.
Scott: I like to hike now and again, I like cycling, I watch films. Yeah.
Is there a specific person that you either know personally or parasocially that got you into music?
Shelly: my parents. Yeah, they were massively into music.
Kim: my older sisters, I raided their record collection when I was like five.
Ben: that's a very big question, there's so many ways to answer that. I'm gonna give you two, there was one who made a mix CD like black sabbath, Nirvana, Skorpion and what not, so she gave me that when I was like eleven or twelve. And then the classic answer, if as soon as I found nirvana it was Kurt Cobain.
Scott: I was saying before, my dad, he got me into classic rock and to some extent, my mother, but it was more so my dad.

What is your favourite artist that you have seen live?
Shelly: nine inch nails, it was very much a bucket list moment to see Nine Inch Nails because id wanted to see them for so long, so that was mint. That was in Barcelona, so it was like another world. It was just mint.
Kim: I think for me it was probably Gogol Bordello, they were insane live, I've been wanting to see them for a while.
Ben: for me, it would have to be Chris Cornell, I saw him back in 2012 and they're hands down my favourite band of all time. And I played on stage with him, I got a video of it as well, I'm sure it's on youtube.
Scott: I'm gonna say Robin Tower again because I saw him back in May last year. It wasn't for entertainment, it was more so for admiring how he plays the guitar, how he plays the strings. Like a massive learning development.
