On February 22nd, we had the exhausting pleasure of running around North Shields Fish Quay interviewing a tonne of bands at Coast Festival's coastal crawl. We managed to catch the lead singer of 7 Bridges for a quick interview before their set.

Can you introduce yourself?
Hello, I'm Tony from 7 Bridges.
Who are the band's top three musical inspirations?
Alright, top three? I can only speak for myself and what I've been listening to at the minute, I think Idles at the minute, but number one would be Fleetwood Mac, and then, Oasis at the minute.
How did you get into making music?
I'm pretty new to this, to be honest, I've only been doing it for about a year now. But for me I just needed a new hobby to do, and just thought 'I've always wanted to give this a go'. It wasnt even in lockdown, I just picked it up randomly last year.

What is next for the band?
We've got a new single coming out called 'get in the sea' that's getting mixed at the minute, so we'll have a release date for that. Hopefully we're gonna be announcing that soon and just get some more gigs.
What has been your most memorable performance to date?
I think coast fest we had a good day, it's probably the one that stands out for me.
Is there a specific person who you either know personally or parasocially that got you into making music?
Maybe my brother-in-law, he was the first person that got me into bands like Oasis and the Stone Roses when I was like eleven ot twelve and then he's also in a band as well so.
What is your biggest strength as an artist?
For me, I like to think I enjoy writing the lyrics, and I think I put the meaning of the lyrics across well in the performance as well.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of making music?
I'm quite busy, so I think this is enough for me. I'm busy at work and I've got a lot of kids to look after aha. Football, maybe. Football yeah.
Who is your favourite artist that you've seen live?
Ooh, favourite artist I've seen live... I love Paul Heaton and I've seen him live recently, so I'd say him.
